Documents

What do these document show?

The documents below are the same ones that HRT used in a series of open houses in Virginia Beach. They explain what the VBTES is, the time line for doing the work, and what important questions will be addressed when the work is complete. The study is examining the best transit options available for a former freight rail right of way that runs from Newtown Road to Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach, with options for new transit service east of Birdneck to the Oceanfront.

When completed, Virginia Beach will have an important set of facts to help it decide how to proceed. The study has been on hold since April 2011. It is expected to formally re-start in in November of 2012. It is being paid for with federal and state funds. No city money is being used for the work.

Some of these files are large and take a little time to download. Be patient. If you only have time for one, the VBTES brochure is a good summary of the information.
