Karen Burnette

Karen Burnette is the Vice President for Administration. The department includes Organizational Development (responsible for recruiting/hiring, training, organizational structure, employee logistics), and Human Resources. As Vice President, Karen’s role is to serve as the main liaison between HRT’s governing board by providing oversight for public meetings, committee activities, and special events. Prior to the formation of HRT in 1999, Karen was employed by PENTRAN in 1980.

Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Hampton University in Hampton, VA, and a master’s degree in public administration from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, CA. She is currently a member of the Greater Williamsburg Women’s Association, Kiwanis International, and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials.
