Ron Edwards

Ron Edwards is the Chief Safety and Security Officer.  He is responsible for managing safety, security and risk management departments at HRT.

Mr. Edwards has over a decade of  experience in the safety profession. His career began as an Industrial Hygienist Compliance Officer with the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 1997.  Four years later, he joined Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as the Regional Safety Officer and then as the Manager of Rail Safety.

In 2009, Mr. Edwards joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Transit Safety Associate. He worked with several transit properties including the Maryland Transit Administration, Charlotte Area Transit System and Valley Metro in Phoenix, Arizona.

Mr. Edwards earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Master of Science degree in Safety Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

In a previous career, Mr. Edwards played professional football with the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals.
