November Service Changes

Service Plan – Effective: November 12, 2023

Route 1 Granby Street – Schedule adjustments.

Route 3 Chesapeake Boulevard – The detour on Route 3 will become permanent (no service to the Navy Exchange Mall or Gate 4). To reach the Navy Exchange Mall passengers may transfer at Evelyn T. Butts to Route 21. Adjust the runtime and restore the time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts.

Route 4 Church Street – Runtime adjustments.

Route 5 Willoughby – Runtime adjustments. Restore time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts.

Route 6 South Norfolk – The alignment on Route 6 will be revised to operate via Atlantic Avenue to Campostella Road to Military Highway to Robert Hall. The timepoint at Waterside Drive/Commercial Place will be eliminated and the new downtown timepoint will be MacArthur Station (City Hall Avenue & Bank Street). The first two morning trips departing DNTC Monday through Friday will not make the loop through downtown Norfolk.

Route 8 Tidewater Drive – Restore 30-minute frequency Monday through Saturday. Runtime adjustments. Restore the time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts.

Route 9 Sewells Point Road – Runtime adjustments. Restore the time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts.

Route 11 Colonial Avenue – Schedule adjustments.

Route 13 Campostella Road – The alignment along Route 13 will be revised to operate via Campostella Road to Battlefield Boulevard to Robert Hall. A new bus stop for Route 13 outbound (traveling to Summit Pointe) will be added on Robert Hall Boulevard next to the old Kmart building.

Route 14 Battlefield Boulevard – Schedule adjustments.

Route 15 Military Highway – Eliminate the timepoint at Janaf. Route 15 will continue to serve Janaf. Adjust the runtime and restore the time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts and Military Circle.

Route 20 Virginia Beach Boulevard – The short turns on Route 20 will be eliminated, offering 15-minute service along the entire length of the route during peak periods Monday through Friday. Route 20 will become a 757 Express route. Saturday and Sunday service will begin at 5:00 a.m. Route 20 will be extended along Virginia Beach Boulevard to Pacific Avenue to make a connection with Route 33 at Virginia Beach/Pacific then continue on to 22nd Street to Parks Avenue. Restore the time transfer connection at Military Circle.

Route 21 Little Creek Road – Restore 30-minute frequency Monday through Saturday. Adjust the runtime and restore the time transfer connection at Evelyn Butts.

Route 23 Princess Anne Road – Adjust the runtime and restore the time transfer connection at Military Circle.

Route 24 Kempsville Road – Alignment change. Route 24 will no longer provide direct service to Greenbrier Mall. Service will be provided to the mall via Eden Way N. New bus stops will be added eastbound and westbound on Eden Way near the intersection of River Birch Run.

The route will no longer operate along Woodlake Drive. Coverage along Woodlake Drive will be provided by Route 14. Service along Crossways Boulevard and Kristina Way will be eliminated. Passengers along Crossways Boulevard and Kristina Way will be required to board/alight Route 24 along Eden Way between Stephanie Way and Kristina Way. New bus stops will be added along Eden Way.

Route 36 Holland Road – Schedule adjustments.

Route 43 Parkview – Schedule adjustments.

Route 45 Portsmouth Boulevard – Eliminate the timepoint at Waterside Drive/Commercial Place. The new downtown timepoint will be MacArthur Station (City Hall Avenue & Bank Street).

Route 57 Camelot – Adjust the runtime and restore the time transfer connection at Robert Hall.

Route 109 Pembroke Avenue – Route 109 will no longer interline with Routes 117 and 120. Traveling outbound to Buckroe Avenue and Mallory Street, Route 109 will operate via Buckroe Avenue to 5th Street to Pembroke Avenue to Mallory Street.

Route 115 Foxhill Road – Route 115 will be realigned to be a combination of three routes: Route 115, Route 117, and Route 120. Service will begin at Hampton Transit Center and operate via the existing Route 115 alignment to Buckroe Beach. After serving Buckroe Beach, Route 115 will operate on Mallory Street following the existing Route 120 alignment, then continue to the VA Medical Center and Hampton University via the existing Route 117 alignment and terminate at Hampton Transit Center. This same pattern will operate in the opposite direction. Route 115 will no longer provide service along Pembroke Avenue between Old Buckroe Road and Mallory Street.

Route 117 Phoebus – Route 117 will be discontinued, and service to the VA Medical Center and Hampton University covered by realigned Route 115. Service along County Street will be eliminated.

Route 120 Mallory Street – Route 120 will be discontinued and service along Mallory Street covered by realigned Route 115. Service along County Street, Woodland Road and Mercury Boulevard will be eliminated.

960 Norfolk/Virginia Beach – Reduce the layover at Parks Avenue/19th Street and adjust the runtime. Eliminate the timepoint at Waterside Drive/Commercial Place. The new downtown timepoint will be MacArthur Station (City Hall Avenue & Bank Street).

Route 961 Norfolk/Hampton/Newport News – The timepoint at Waterside Drive/Commercial Place will be eliminated and the new downtown timepoint will be at Civic Plaza (Saint Paul’s Boulevard & Plume Street).
