HRT now on FaceBook and Twitter
Hampton Roads Transit has launched its own FaceBook and Twitter pages, a more interactive way to share information with its customers.
FaceBook is a free service that allows HRT to share comments, messages, photos and videos with interested individuals, known as “fans.” Twitter, also a free service, allows HRT to exchange 140-character messages, called “tweets,” with its “followers.” Both networks allow users to receive the updates on their phones, via instant message, RSS or on the web. RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, allows users to receive a feed of the latest blog entries, news headlines, audio, video, as well as Twitter and FaceBook updates.
HRT customers and the general public are encouraged to become a “fan” of HRT on FaceBook and “follow” the agency on Twitter in order to regularly receive information about HRT, such as upcoming meetings, special events, promotions, safety tips, and more.
HRT customers may continue to visit gohrt.com for the most up-to-date transit information.
