Facilities and Environmental
The Environmental and Facilities Engineering Department is managed by the Chief Environmental and Facilities Engineering Officer, and is comprised of Environmental Management and Sustainability, Design and Construction Management, and Facilities Maintenance.
HRT’s Environmental Management and Sustainability Program works with all HRT employees to coordinate sustainability initiatives, such as pollution prevention and recycling. EMS is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations.
The Design and Construction Management function is responsible for all renovations to existing HRT facilities and the construction of new ones, including transfer and transit centers, office spaces and bus shelters.
Facilities Maintenance takes care of bus stops, passenger waiting shelters and the general upkeep of all HRT facilities and property.
