Hampton Roads Transit will offer added bus, rail and ferry service to downtown Norfolk during OpSail.

Light Rail
- On Wednesday and Thursday, June 6-7 and between 9:30-11 p.m., additional light rail trains will provide 15-minute frequency, instead of the usual 30-minute schedule.
- On Friday, June 8, from 9:30 p.m. until midnight, trains will run 10-minute frequencies instead of the usual 30 minute.
- On Saturday, from 6-9 a.m., light rail will have 15-minute frequencies instead of 30 minute. From 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. trains will run 10-minute service instead of 15, and from 9:30 p.m. until midnight light service will run 7-10 minute frequencies instead of the usual 30 minute service.
- On June 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. trains will run 10 minute service instead of 15 minutes.

Ferry
Hampton Roads Transit will have enhanced ferry service between Portsmouth and Norfolk, including the higher capacity Carrie B.
Bus
The EVMC/Ft. Norfolk rail stop is served by bus routes 2, 16, 17, 23, 44. Click here for maps and connection information.

Special Bus Service
Express bus service will connect Newtown Road to MacArthur Square light rail station in downtown on Saturday, June 9.
Starting at 4 p.m. express bus service will augment light rail service and carry passengers from the Newtown Road light rail station to the MacArthur Square station downtown until crowds have thinned.
On the move toward Virginia Beach after the fireworks, customers who want to avoid light rail lines can board those same express buses at Bank and Main streets for service to Newtown Road only. This special bus service will run until crowds clear.
Ticket Sales
To ease lines at light rail stations, on June 8th and 9th , Hampton Roads Transit will have on-site ticket sales at three light rail locations: Newtown Road, Military Highway, EVMC/Ft. Customers can buy a $3 pass for cash only. No credit. No discounts or refunds. The $3 pass will be honored on ferry and light rail, but not on bus.
Ticket sales also will be available at the High Street and North Landing ferry docks on June 8th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and on June 9th from noon-8 p.m. These sales are in addition to regular sales at ticket vending machines and retail outlets around the region.
Passes also can be purchased on buses that are good for rail and ferry.
Parking
There are four free park and ride lots at Newtown, Military Highway, Ballentine-Broad Creek and Harbor Park. There is overflow parking at Newtown Road. See local signs for directions.
While parking is free at Harbor Park, a $5 charge for an all-day pass will be collected by the city on weekends.
Limited free parking is available at the EVMC/Ft. Norfolk lot and only available Monday-Thursday from 6:00 – 11:59 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.
