New PAC boasts $300K to push light rail in Va. Beach

Light-rail advocates have always said building support for extending The Tide into Virginia Beach is like running a political campaign.

Now they have a political action committee to prove it.

Move Hampton Roads recently formed to raise money to push for passage of the November referendum that will ask residents whether they like the idea of the city pursuing a light-rail system. Voters said no to light rail in a 1999 referendum.
