About MEAC 

The 2013 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament begins its 43rd year of  intercollegiate competition heading into the 2012-13 academic school year. Located in Norfolk, the MEAC is made up of 13 outstanding historically black institutions across the Atlantic coast: Bethune-Cookman University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Savannah State University and South Carolina State University.

MEAC student-athletes excel on and off the field.  Several have been recognized on ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America and All-District teams. The conference sponsors All-Academic teams in each of its sports and awards two post-graduate scholarships of $5,000 each annually to one male and one female student-athlete who have excelled academically and athletically and are in their final season of intercollegiate athletics eligibility and competition under MEAC and NCAA regulations.

We’re extending serviced hours for The Tide to support the event and give folks a chance to enjoy time downtown. Light Rail service will run to 1 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you require bus connections, check out routes pages to make sure your bus runs as late as you do. Normal ferry service will be in place during this time.

Scope is served by local routes 6, 8, 9, 13, 17, 18, 45, while The Tide serves Scope from the Monticello Station.

Train #2 will continue to EVMC and arrive at 12:54>Depart EVMC at 1:00a and arrive at Newtown at 1:24a>Depart Newtown out of service.
