Route 16 – Serving ODU and Ghent
On February 3, 2013, a revised Route 16 began service.
It connects the EVMC/Fort Norfolk light rail station on Colley Avenue to stops along 21st Street, Llewellyn Avenue and 27th Street in Ghent. Additional connections are made to 43rd Street and Old Dominion University Village before returning to the light rail station. This revised route was developed after public input on the decision to eliminate the Rt. 17 NET service to Ghent. The new 16 offers improved connections to more people.
It also allows Old Dominion University students and staff access to popular destinations to the greater Ghent community.
And coming in March – much better bus stop signs to help customers know where to stand – and operators where to stop.
