 What does the future hold for new transportation services on the Peninsula? Who - The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) prepared an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Peninsula Rail Transit Project in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). What / Why - Two Public Scoping Meetings were held to provide an early opportunity for all citizens to identify issues and concerns that needed to be addressed in the EIS, including social, economic and environmental issues. Information and displays were available at each meeting location. HRT staff and consultants were on hand to discuss the proposed project and to receive input.
