What will it cost me?

The landmark transportation funding package that passed the General Assembly is projected to inject $3.5 billion into Virginia’s transportation coffers over five years. Higher regional taxes in the legislation are expected to deliver an extra $173 million to $219 million annually to Hampton Roads, and $300 million to $350 million per year to Northern Virginia.

The money will feed maintenance of old roads, construction of new ones, mass transit and intercity passenger rail projects.
